Privacy policy
The short version: I only collect what you choose to send me, I use it to reply and to build your project, and I never sell it. This site has no ads, no tracking and no analytics cookies.
Who I am
Songbird Web Studio is a small web design studio run by Melanie Dieas, based in Florida. It is operated by MBD Concept LLC, doing business as Songbird Web Studio. In this policy, "I", "me" and "Songbird Web Studio" mean MBD Concept LLC and the studio. You can reach me any time at hello@songbirdwebstudio.com.
This policy covers songbirdwebstudio.com and the forms on it. Websites I build for clients have their own owners and their own privacy policies.
What I collect
What you send me. When you use the contact form or the project questionnaire, I receive what you type in, which can include:
- your name, email address and business name
- details about your business and your project, such as goals, pages, timeline, budget and an estimate from the pricing tool
- files and links you choose to share, such as your logo, brand files or websites you like
The same goes for anything you send me by email.
Payments. If we work together, you pay invoices and care plans through Stripe. Stripe collects your payment details directly, and I see only what I need for my records, such as your name, email, billing address, the amount and the last four digits of your card. I never see or store your full card number.
Basic technical information. Like nearly every website, the servers that host this site keep standard logs, such as your IP address, browser type and the pages you requested. These are used to keep the site running and secure, and to filter spam form submissions.
What I don't collect. No analytics or advertising trackers, no tracking cookies, and no selling or renting of personal information.
How I use it
- to reply to you by email
- to plan your project and prepare a quote
- to build, launch and care for your website if we work together
- to send invoices and receipts, and run your care plan if you have one
- to keep basic business records, such as invoices and payments
I won't add you to a mailing list or send you marketing emails unless you ask me to.
Services that help run this site
A few trusted companies handle information on my behalf, only to provide their service:
- Netlify hosts the website, receives form submissions and stores uploaded files.
- Resend delivers form submissions to my inbox.
- Google Workspace provides my email.
- Stripe processes payments for invoices and care plans, and runs the portal where you manage your care plan. Stripe has its own privacy policy.
I may also share information if the law requires it.
How long I keep it
I keep messages and project details for as long as I need them to work with you, and afterward for my business records. If we don't end up working together, you can ask me to delete what you sent at any time.
Your choices
You can ask me to show you, correct or delete the personal information I have about you. Just email hello@songbirdwebstudio.com, and I'll take care of it promptly. You can also simply not use the forms and email me instead.
Security
This site is served over HTTPS. Form submissions and files are stored with my hosting provider, and only I have access to them. No system is perfectly secure, so please don't send passwords or payment details through the forms. I'll ask for logins in a safer way when a project needs them.
Children
This site is meant for business owners. It isn't directed at children under 13, and I don't knowingly collect their information.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, I'll post the new version here and update the date at the top.
